About me

My maritime career began in 1954 and started by being a deckboy on an ocean going vessel of the German merchant marine. The period of training on board also included the working with ropes and wires. Especially working with ropes such as knotes and splices found my great interest and my knowledge in this field was continously extented until 1961 when my maritime career terminated with the grade of a professional able bodied seaman. In the meantime my projects have been published in many local and regional newspapers and magazines and have as well been displayed in the german television (wdr) and the rtl-plus in Luxembourg.
Permanent exposures of my unique objects are existing in the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven and at Senden nearby Münster. In September 1986 I was awarded with the medal of the German Maritime Museum. The attention is
drawn to the fact that all my projects are based on my own design.
